About to launch the Nike Dunk with the mythical claim “Be True for your School” involving some of the most famous colleges in the United States, the Beaverton-based brand had already put on Michael Jordan‘s feet the shoes that would become a timeless legend. Not only that, this incredible year also gave birth to Terminator High, a shoe designed for the Georgetown Hoyas Basketball team, who were competing for the NCAA title in 1985.
The Nike Dunk Project ‘Be true for your School’ involved the production of seven pairs of Dunk shoes, dedicated to the seven universities considered the most prestigious in the States; with one resounding exclusion: Georgetown University (Washington DC).
The reason? Thanks to the intervention of their coach, John Thompson, Nike was preparing something more prestigious for the team: a High shoe with the team’s institutional colors and customized embroidery with the word HOYAS on the heel, in their honor.
The Nike Terminator High Georgetown is a special, high-performance shoe with exceptional features that will also be worn by the Hoyas during their game against Villanova, for what many believe will be the biggest upset in NCAA title history.
After years in the Nike archives, the legendary trainer is back in an OG version for fans of vintage silhouettes and more.
