High-performance, attractively designed-some say their design was the inspiration for Kanye West’s adidas Yeezy Foam Runner; The Merrell brand was born in 1981 by Randy Merrell, a craftsman living in the mountains of Utah and making Cowboy boots, intent on launching himself into the hiking shoe market.
From this insight, Merrell partnered with Clark Matis and John Schweizer, both former employees of the Rossignol brand, a major skiwear company.
From that moment, the brand became associated with the concept of “Outdoor” Sports, a sense of freedom and discovery.
