Many stories inspired the designer, some of them lesser known: Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells LP Cover and the waves formed by falling water and the imperceptible wake of the speed of Japan’s ultrafast trains were some of the concepts behind the creation of this iconic silhouette, which, thanks to its full-length Max Air cushioning, remains a futuristic design and a masterpiece of comfort and technology.
