It was 1922 when C.N. Williamson and E.E. Dickie decided to open the first dungaree store, “the U.S. Overall Company,” in Texas, which would later be christened into “Williamson -Dickie Manufacturing Company.”
Shortly after its founding, the workwear company gave birth to the famous “Dickies 874” polycotton dungarees without pence, with a flat belly and permanent crease. The model revolutionized the very concept of pants and would become fundamental to future workwear and streetwear.
Throughout its 100-year history, Dickies has witnessed an inexhaustible succession of fashions and trends, which have not in the slightest shaken its timeless style: the timeless look has remained unchanged through all these years, always proving to be current.
The raw materials used then, the sturdiness of the fabrics and stitching-proof of metal workers working even 14 hours a day-have contributed to the reputation of a long-lasting, high quality and fashionable brand.
After this brief journey through the history of Dickies, it’s time to introduce the Dickies FW22 New Collection, designed to be unisex, for all sizes and body shapes, building on the classic, boxy silhouettes associated with the Texan brand since both 1922.
From vitamin colors such as green, orange; to neutrals such as beige, gray; to basics such as white and black; the new collection creates minimal styles that can be mixed and matched with each other, throughout the season.
Classic designs that have been part of Dickies‘ archive since the 1920s have been reworked with contemporary, technical materials; the effect is of silhouettes that look like they were designed today and instead belong to the workwear tradition.
Highlights of the latest collection include the new varsity jacket, long-sleeved bowling shirts, and baggy denim.
New workwear styles, such as pleated pants, made from organic and sustainable fibers, have been included.
Completing the collection is the Dickies Skateboarding series, which returns with a melange of durable, skate-ready garments.
