To celebrate 10 years since the first Tech Fleece collection, Nike and NOCTA have launched a capsule all about the iconic fabric, designed by the Breaveton-based brand in 2005.

NOCTA is the latest line launched by Nike in collaboration with Drake, a multifaceted rapper who is also famous for his obsession with Streetwear. NOCTA refers to the Canadian artist’s habit of writing his tracks at night and has as its main purpose to “create something for people on the go, people who want garments that are comfortable and functional while being versatile from one environment to another,” to paraphrase Drake himself.

The NOCTA Nike 2023 Capsule Collection is all about Tech Fleece, a fabric invented by Jarret Reynolds and Michael Leon, two Nike apparel designers who had the insight to create a blend of cotton and polyester with a special honeycomb structure that can retain heat and absorb moisture.

The innovative material was launched on the market in 2007, after two years of experimentation, but the first complete collection consisting of pants, sweatshirts and tees arrived only in 2013. Before that time, in fact, Nike launched individual products and product groups of this material on the market, mainly sweatshirts and t-shirts.

Ten years later, the brand debuted in the streetwear world by collaborating with NOCTA, for a capsule consisting of a hoodie, a crewneck sweatshirt, and open-hem pants. The sky-blue colorway was announced by the rapper on IG, with a post where he and his staff are wearing Nike NOCTA Tech Fleece 2023 sweatshirts while sitting on the steps of his personal plane.
