Pleasures Celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the Iconic Joy Division’s 'Unknown Plesures' Album

Pleasures meets the Unknown Pleasures through a striking Capsule Collection, for celebrate the 40th of Joy Division’s masterpiece album.

The L.A. based brand has collaborated with estate of Joy Division and Warner Music UK, defining the collection is an array of reimaginations of Factory Records designer and iconic graphic artist Peter Saville‘s cover art for this iconic album.

The capsule, called “Joy Division by PLEASURES,” range honors the seminal elements of the 1979 album that has influenced generation after generation of creatives and continues to dynamically prove; its instructive legacy, is comprised of puffer jackets, hoodies, hockney jeseys, shirts, several t-shirts and two versions of the exclusive Modernica‘s Side Shell Eiffel Chairs emblazoned with the Unknown Pleasures album artwork in contrasting Black – White and White – Black.

Forty years later, the mysterious radio pulsar waves is still one of the most significant and iconic graphic signs of all times.

About Unknkow Pleasures:

June 15, 1979: one of the most important and influential albums of the post-punk movement is born.

Sonically, Unknown Pleasures is a monumental achievement: a milestone composed of dark and distorted sounds, which have changed the perception of the rock genre.

The cover artwork was designed by artist Peter Saville, using a data plot of signals from a radio pulsar: this mysterious black and white artwork began decorating record store shelves, drawing in browsing customers.

With this debut album, the english band Joy Division and its frontman Ian Curtis come right into the myth of post-punk movement.
