Puma has initiated its first collaboration with the Nanamica brand, elevating the Suede silhouette to a minimalist, heavily ’90s design.
The Low-Top Sneakers Silhouette is lined with GORE-TEX waterproof material, making it practically perfect for the upcoming fall season. Puma and Nanamica pick up on times so dear to streetwear fashion, such as workwear and military garment, re-imagining them with a clean aesthetic rooted in essentiality and functionality.
The references to military and nautical style are continuous and subtle, in keeping with the meaning of the Nanamica brand, which literally translates to “House of the Seven Seas“; the collection features superior footwear and apparel to last, and a classic style that is distinguished by careful detailing and smart construction.
The PUMA Clyde has been reimagined by Nanamica with a design that hides the eyelets, giving the shoe a functional and clean aesthetic, strongly reminiscent of Japanese existentialism. The shoe is lined with a GORE-TEX membrane, a technology always used in Nanamica’s collections, and again used for this collaboration. On the tongue, however, the satin co-branded tag has been applied.
Heavily influenced by Japanese sensibilities, the Puma x Nanamica Collection features a Woven Coat boasting Cordura fabric, a series of utility pockets, and a rubber badge pocket with PUMA x Nanamica logos; two PUMA x Nanamica hoodies equipped with zippered closures and made of 450-gram French terry fabric; and cotton twill pants and essential striped T-shirts complete the capsule.
